School kids have a wonderful time when visiting the farm, and many don't even realize they are learning about the animals, how food is grown, and how farm life is different from their own.

MOPS and Homeschools see below.

MOPS and Homeschool Groups

$12 + tax per person age 2 years and older. 
Must have 15+ people in your group.

For MOPS and Homeschool groups we have found it works best for everyone to have these groups visit the farm as part of our general public with a discounted rate. These groups will have access to all the general admission inclusive activities available on the farm.

This group rate does not include a pumpkin, farm color/activity book or bottle of water.  Any pumpkins selected will need to be purchased before leaving the farm.  There are concessions available if needed or you may bring your own.

• Additional coupons or discounts can not be applied towards this rate.
  
• Your MOPS or Homeschool group must consist of 15 or more paying admissions to get this discounted rate.
• Reservations are required, schedule your group's outing by calling 515-981-0863
  
• You will need to appoint a lead person who will collect payment from each individual attending the outing and PAY AS ONE PAYMENT. Your entire group MUST arrive at the sametime.  Individuals arriving after the group has checked in and paid admission will not receive the discount rate and will be charged the regular priced gate admission. If you have individual(s) running late, purchase their admission at the time of check in and arrange a meeting place to pass out their bands.

Planning Your Field Trips

When planning your field trip to Howell's please keep in mind that it is best for everyones enjoyment to limit your time on the farm to 3-4 hours. Experience has taught us that this is the perfect amount of time to enjoy all of our attractions!
You are welcome to bring your own sack lunches. We will include your lunchtime in your schedule. We do have limited concession options available for parents to purchase if needed. 

We schedule field trips Monday- Friday 9am- 4pm

Once you have chosen a few dates that would work for your field trip please contact us and we will follow up with you to get your field trip scheduled. We may have multiple groups playing on the farm per day, there is plenty of room for everyone.

Field trips are self lead by the group. The activities in your package will not be on a timed schedule with the exception of the tractor rides and lunches. If an activity seems too busy you can always try another in the meantime.  We ask that groups be respectful with their time on the activities as well.

It is extremely important that your group arrives at the farm 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time. Your scheduled time is the time your tractor will be leaving the barn, not when you are to arrive. This 10-15 minutes gives your group time to park your bus, unload the students, getting them organized and checked in ready to take their ride to the patch or maze.  Groups that arrive late affect our schedule and the schedule of the groups that follow.

Parents who wish to join your group's outing will need to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to ensure they have paid their admission and are ready to go with your group. To keep our groups on time and moving, we can not wait for late parents for the tractor rides.  If a parent arrives after the tractor has left the barn, they can join the group when they return back to the barn.

We try very hard to stay on schedule so that everyone can have a joyous experience here at Howell's, with your help following these guidelines we can make that happen.

• School groups, preschools and daycares should arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled time to get unloaded and checked in with our staff in the Barn and settle payment.
• Parents that are attending with their child need to arrive 15 minutes before the group is scheduled to get checked in with our staff in the Barn and settle payment.
• Students, Teachers and Parents should plan to dress for outdoor farm like activities.  For safety reasons this is not the place to wear flip-flops, high heels or dress shoes. Keep in mind that it is generally 10 degrees colder in the country than in the city, dressing in layers and having hats and gloves are great ways to prepare for your visit.
